Clean all sand and salt off plow blade to prevent corrosion and paint from peeling. Scrape off loose paint and repaint any bare areas. Fisher sells paint for your plow in quarts, gallons and spray cans. Coat all electrical connections with dielectric grease to prevent corrosion
(Fisher part # 22400K large 2 oz. tube $7.42) Be sure lift ram is collapsed so the rod is not exposed. Coat angle ram rods with general purpose petroleum grease or Fluid Film. Lubricate all pivot points (for example, connecting pin assembly and lower spring anchor) with general purpose petroleum grease or Fluid Film. If you store your plow outside, elevate it on a wood pallet or bricks to keep it out of the dirt. We also recommend a blade lock if you store your plow outside to prevent theft. (Blade Locks are available in our online parts catalog for $190.00-see photo below) Cover plow headgear to protect it (Plow Covers available in our online parts catalog $50.00-see photo below) Change hydraulic fluid before the next plow season- ideally in the Fall.
